Travis Kelce's 12th NFL season will come to an end after his Kansas City Chiefs meet the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
Whether or not Kelce makes "three-peat" history with Kansas City and earns his fourth Super Bowl ring on Sunday, he is positioned double his career NFL earnings — approximately $94 million in Chiefs contracts — with one big move.
The 35-year-old maintains that he wants to keep playing football despite swirling retirement rumors that he has been asked about constantly in the lead up to the Super Bowl.
However, his placement on The Athletic's short-list for the next potential $100 million NFL broadcaster ought to make for a less stressful transition whenever he does eventually hang up his cleats.
In the era of Tom Brady making $375 million to be Fox's top NFL analyst, a $100 million contract is a realistic number for the next crop of on-air talent to jump into the booth, according to sports business writer Andrew Marchand.
Marchand listed Kelce among the most-desired names in the business who "will have major broadcasting opportunities, if and when they want." Also on the list: Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay, Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin and former NFL stars J.J. Watt and Greg Olsen.
Of course, Kelce has plenty of other options beyond the broadcast booth — and beyond football in general. His "New Heights" podcast with his brother Jason Kelce already boasts a $100 million valuation by itself.

His career on the big screen is off to a promising start as well. Kelce has acted in movies like Netflix's "Happy Gilmore 2," shows like FX's "Grotesquerie," and as the host of Prime Video's "Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?"
That's not to mention his billionaire girlfriend , pop star Taylor Swift. If engagement rumors are to be believed, Kelce has the potential to live a pretty comfortable "happy ever after" without working another day in his life.
The $100 million broadcasting option is an indication of what the audience will see on Sunday in the Superdome. Kelce is a star that people pay to see. Even if he does not win the game, that makes it very hard for him to lose in the long run.
