Travis Kelce Gives Emphatic Statement on Lou Anarumo's Firing From Bengals

This past season, the Cincinnati Bengals had to make a massive decision. The club started the season 1-4 in what was a brutal beginning to a campaign that would finish 9-8 and short of a playoff appearance.

Superstar quarterback Joe Burrow played at an MVP level while superstar Ja'Marr Chase led the NFL in receiving yards -- meaning the Bengals' offense was up and running.

With defensive woes holding the team back, the organization had to move on from defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who had spent six years with the club.

Anarumo's defenses began to dwindle as talent went out of the door and his unit began to age. Evidently, his 2024 campaign wasn't enough to give him more time with his job, meaning the club fired him.

Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce was quite confused about the firing, making quite an emphatic statement regarding the move on a recent episode of "New Heights."

"I don't know what the [expletive] is going on [in Cincinnati], Travis said. "That was a wild, wild move I did not see coming because I thought that, from the outside, their defense was playing really [expletive] good toward the end of the year."

Anarumo wasn't on the open market for a long as a head coach, as he assumed the same role in the AFC, heading to the Indinapolis Colts to help turn their unit around.

"With many years of coaching experience, Lou is a proven leader who will demand the best out of our players. His strategic mindset and unique scheme will be invaluable as we build a fast and disciplined defensive unit," Colts head coach Shane Steichen said in a statement.

Evidently, the Bengals needed a fresh coordinator in the role as they enter a decisive offseason.
