Travis Kelce Makes Change To Appearance After Super Bowl Loss

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is slowly but surely moving on from the team's blowout loss in Super Bowl 59.

Kelce had a lackluster showing in the Super Bowl, hauling in just four passes for 39 yards. It was the type of performance that had everyone wondering if he'd retire this offseason. The Chiefs, however, expect him to return to the 2025 season. At least that's what general manager Brett Veach told the media on Tuesday.

"How we left at the end of the season is that he was fired up," Veach said at the NFL Combine on Tuesday. "I think we left it as he'd be back and were excited to get him back and get him going."

Kelce might return for one last ride with the Chiefs, but he might look a bit different.

Leading up to this year's Super Bowl, Kelce was sporting a fairly long beard. He usually lets his facial hair grow out when the Chiefs are in the middle of a playoff run.

During the latest episode of the "New Heights" podcast, Kelce showed off his newly-trimmed beard. It's a clean look for the future Hall of Famer.

Kelce has not shared his plans for the 2025 season just yet. He admit this past year was pretty exhausting at times.

"I know everybody wants to know whether I am playing next year and right now I am just kicking everything down the road. I am kicking every can I can down the road," Kelce said. "I am not making any crazy decisions, but right now the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches understanding there’s a lot that goes into this thing. I’ve been fortunate over the past five, six years, I’ve played more football than anybody.

"The fact that we keep going to these AFC Championships and Super Bowls, that means I’m playing an extra three games more than everybody else in the entire league. That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body. It’s a lot of time in the building. That process can be grueling. It can weigh on you. It can make you better and it can drive you crazy. Right now, it was one of those things where it was driving me crazy this year. It happens as you tail off towards the back nine of your career."

Eventually, Kelce will have to announce whether or not he'll be back in Kansas City for another year. In the meantime, he's enjoying the start of the NFL offseason.
