If Travis Kelce retires from the NFL this offseason, he could find himself talking about the sport on TV.
Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champion and 11-time Pro Bowler, has not yet announced his plans for the 2026 season. He said on "New Heights" that he intends on letting the Kansas City Chiefs know of his decision before free agency ramps up in March. Although his days of being an All-Pro tight end are over, he still hauled in 76 passes for 851 yards and two touchdowns this season.
According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Kelce will be a top candidate for TV networks if he retires this offseason. He thinks Kelce could command an eight-figure salary as a broadcaster.
While it's unclear if the future Hall of Famer will consider jumping to TV, Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports floated out the possibility of Kelce signing with CBS.
"Out of left field prediction: Travis Kelce will be Matt Ryan's replacement on CBS. The show needs to get more spicy. This is new CBS regime's chance to get some buzz," Glasspiegel said. "Fox has beaten CBS in the pregame show ratings 32 years in a row. This is a chance for CBS to land a potential difference maker if Kelce retires."
Last week, the Atlanta Falcons named Matt Ryan their president of football. He'll be a strong voice as the team searches for its next general manager and head coach.
Since Ryan will be involved in the football operations for the Falcons, he had to step away from his role on "The NFL Today."
"When I left, I was so lucky to be given the opportunity by David Berson and CBS to become a part of this team. My first year was with a crew on the road, and we were calling games. And when you’re out on the road calling games, you become a team and a group, and sort of a traveling circus. I’m thankful to that crew," Ryan said. "And the last two years, you guys have become my team. It’s helped me a lot, because it’s not easy. And I think former players, coaches, and people in that space, we can all relate to that, but you guys have made it better for me, and realized there’s life after, and you keep going."
Make no mistake about it, Kelce would give the CBS some serious firepower heading into the 2026 season.
