Travis Kelce on passing Jerry Rice: ‘Shoutout to Jerry Rice, the Chiefs are still the Chiefs’

Kelce now sits atop the NFL’s postseason reception leaders with 156 catches, also on the heels of Rice’s receiving yards and touchdowns record. With him now 435 playoff-receiving yards away from matching Rice’s yards record and three touchdown grabs away from tying his touchdown record for the postseason.

It’s been a record-breaking postseason overall for Kelce during the Chiefs’ run back to the Super Bowl, surpassing Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski‘s record for playoff touchdowns between a quarterback and pass catcher with Patrick Mahomes last weekend against the Bills with 16 touchdown connections.

Mahomes threw for 241 yards to go along with his touchdown pass to Kelce on Sunday, completing an efficient 30 of his 39 pass attempts in the win. During the Chiefs’ three playoff games this postseason he’s thrown for 718 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions, finding Kelce for 27 completions, 262 yards, and three scores. Further establishing themselves as one of the most unstoppable duos in NFL history.

Kelce was also seen celebrating on the field with his girlfriend and 12-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift after the AFC Championship win, a couple that’s risen to prominence after her first appearance at a Chiefs game in Kansas City’s Week 3 win over the Chicago Bears.

His relationship was Swift was looking like somewhat of a curse during the regular season, with Kelce finishing the year with his lowest yard total since 2015 and his lowest touchdown total since 2019. But his postseason resurgence and Kansas City returning to the Super Bowl yet again answered the wildest dreams of Chiefs’ fans for a second straight season.
