The Kansas City Chiefs traded star cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams for a haul of four draft picks, including a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, which ended up being former Clemson Tigers defensive tackle Peter Woods.

After this trade, McDuffie signed a four-year, $124 million contract extension with the Rams, which made him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history.

McDuffie spent the first four years of his career with the Chiefs, making one All-Pro team and winning two Super Bowls. On Sunday, the 25-year-old defensive back announced on Instagram that he and his girlfriend, Gabriella Esposito, were engaged.

McDuffie's four seasons with the Chiefs came alongside future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce. With the pair being teammates for so long, they obviously built a great relationship on and off the field.

On McDuffie's collaborative post with Esposito, Kelce left a comment, congratulating the two on getting engaged.

"Let’s goooo!!! ," Kelce wrote.

In McDuffie's career with the Chiefs, after he was taken 21st overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, he started 56 games, totaling 246 tackles, 34 pass breakups, eight forced fumbles and three interceptions.

As for Kelce, his former teammate, the 36-year-old tight end has had an incredible 13-year career in the NFL. He has 11 Pro Bowl appearances, hauling in 1,080 receptions for 13,002 yards and 82 touchdowns.

While the 2026 NFL schedule has not been released yet, the Rams and the Chiefs will meet once in Los Angeles at some point during the season. With this, the newly engaged McDuffie and his former teammate in Kelce will get at least one more shot to share the field.
