Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is going viral not for a game-winning touchdown, but for his appearance in Netflix’s breakout sequel, “Happy Gilmore 2.”

As the buzz builds around the film’s premiere, Kelce is showing love to the man behind the movie: Adam Sandler.

“Man, this life is crazy!!” Kelce wrote in an Instagram post. “Still so surreal I got this opportunity. Adam Sandler SANDMAN!! Thank you brotha, for the opportunity and for giving us all Happy Gilmore 2!”

The message came with behind-the-scenes photos, including Kelce in costume, a shot alongside Sandler and a moment with his father, Ed Kelce, on set.

In the film, Kelce plays a small but unforgettable part as a restaurant manager with a mean streak, especially toward Bad Bunny’s character, Oscar.

One standout scene, now trending online, shows Oscar imagining Kelce shirtless and slathered in honey, just before being attacked by a bear. The sequence left both fans and co-stars howling.

Kelce’s girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift, was among those impressed.

"Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie!” she wrote, sharing the movie poster on her Instagram Story. “An absolute must-watch. 13/10. Go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanely possible. "

Travis Kelce’s Hollywood Momentum Builds

Kelce admitted in interviews that the opportunity to work with Sandler was a dream come true.

"That was a dream come true. I thought "SNL" was going to be the peak of my acting and showman or entertainment career,” he said on The Pat McAfee Show in January. “Working with Happy Gilmore himself, the Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain.”

Kelce isn’t the only athlete in the movie. The cast included a roster of sports icons such as Reggie Bush, Boban Marjanović, Nikki Garcia, Becky Lynch and Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Golf pros like Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau and John Daly also made appearances.

Early reviews have been largely positive. Variety praised the film as a “true revival” of Sandler’s iconic comedy style and audiences agree. “Happy Gilmore 2” is already trending in Netflix’s Top 10.

This isn’t Kelce’s first time in the entertainment spotlight. He’s hosted “Saturday Night Live,” starred in game shows like “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?,” and now adds a Netflix hit to his growing career.

The two-time Super Bowl champion might just be warming up in Hollywood and if “Happy Gilmore 2” is any clue, fans may be seeing a lot more of Kelce on screen soon.
