Travis Kelce’s Behavior Toward Super Bowl Players Draws Attention

Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs struggled throughout the 2025 NFL season, finishing 6-11 and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014. The disappointing campaign also marked the first Super Bowl the Chiefs were not part of since the 2021 season, when they were eliminated in the divisional round by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Still, Kelce continued to leave his mark on the NFL, earning his 11th consecutive Pro Bowl appearance after recording 76 catches for 851 yards and five touchdowns. And while the 36-year-old tight end could still have some juice left in the tank, he has yet to make a decision on retirement or returning for a 14th season.

Still, Kelce made an appearance at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, for Super Bowl LX on Sunday despite Kansas City failing to qualify. The Seattle Seahawks went on to secure their second Super Bowl title, defeating the New England Patriots 29-13 in a defensive-heavy game that saw running back Kenneth Walker III earn MVP honors despite not scoring a touchdown.

Ahead of the game, Kelce made his way onto the field during warmups, standing behind the Patriots’ end zone. At one point, he even walked into the end zone to greet New England tight ends Austin Hooper and Hunter Henry, sharing a hug and a brief exchange. Hooper notably attended Tight End University (TEU) in Nashville last August, which is hosted by Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen.

The NFL world took notice of Kelce's moment with the two Patriots tight ends, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

"Travis Kelce chats up the Patriots Tight Ends pregame." 7News Boston WHDH's Ari Alexander wrote on X.

"so used to being there he got lost," another said.

"He's got so much FOMO about not playing today," wrote a third.

"Chiefs star Travis Kelce Hugging Patriots Tight Ends at Super Bowl LX! ," posted a fourth.

"," commented a fifth.

"Seen all 60 the most boring Super Bowl Ever," added a sixth.

While Kelce has yet to make his retirement decision, it appears that the tight end could potentially be leaning toward a return, especially with his excitement for Eric Bieniemy's return to the Chiefs.

"I can't wait to see him back in the building, man," Kelce said. "He's one of my favorite coaches of all time, one of my favorite people of all time. I've had so many unbelievable growing moments under him as a player, as a person, and I just love the guy."
