There is nothing wrong with being optimistic regarding the upcoming season, especially in June, but sometimes it is best not to give your opponent extra motivation. Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams decided to take a different approach.
Alabama's loss to Vanderbilt last season SHOCKED college football, and I got to ask Ryan Williams how Alabama dealt with that and how they will respond this season! pic.twitter.com/n4PtzgIAt8

Williams was recently interviewed by Jon Gruden on his Barstool Sports podcast, and when asked about Alabama’s stunning loss at Vanderbilt last season, he did not hold back his opinions on the upcoming 2025 rematch between the two teams.
"Going into this game, we don't call them revenge games, so we're going to kill an ant with a sledgehammer this year," Williams said. "So, I mean, just every game that we fell short last year, we definitely got red eyes going into them."
If anyone needs a reminder of what happened in 2024, Alabama lost 40-35 in Nashville, which was their first loss to the Commodores since 1984. The Tide entered the game ranked No. 1 and were favored by 23.5 points. Williams finished the game with three receptions for 82 yards and one touchdown.
The rematch will be on October 4th in Tuscaloosa. Alabama will once again be a heavy favorite and once again should win. The Tide won't need any additional motivation for this game, but now the Commodores will have an abundance of it also.
