The Raiders are 3-0, but have lost a couple of starters over the first few games of the season.
Treydan Stukes missed the entirety of the Week 3 win over the Saints, while Jackson Powers-Johnson was injured late in the game. Plus Jack Bech suffered a fractured forearm.
Las Vegas won, but it was a costly victory.
The Raiders turned to a rookie to start at safety this season. Stukes was selected in the second round of the 2026 draft, but quickly made his presence felt in Las Vegas.
He won a starting job out of training camp and then came up with an interception in his first NFL game.
But in Week 2, Stukes left with a concussion that ultimately forced him to miss Sunday’s game against the Saints as well.
In his place, Isaiah Pola-Mao started and struggled. Pola-Mao was picked on by the Saints, as he allowed two touchdowns on the goal line. Last season, Pola-Mao was the second-worst safety in the NFL by Pro Football Focus grades.
Klint Kubiak was optimistic that Stukes would return by saying, “We expect Stukes to be back this week.”
The Raiders lost their right guard in the fourth quarter against the Saints. Powers-Johnson left the game with a groin injury.
Kubiak didn’t say he expected Powers-Johnson back this week.
Caleb Rogers came in for the final five offensive snaps. Rogers battled Powers-Johnson for the starting right guard spot until the very end of the offseason. If Powers-Johnson is unable to play, Rogers will step in to start.
Powers-Johnson has struggled through three games. He has allowed the second most pressures on the team, behind left guard Spencer Burford. He is also the lowest graded run blocker on the offensive line, according to Pro Football Focus.
The Raiders will need either Powers-Johnson or Rogers to step up to make the offensive line hit its ceiling this season.
Bech was injured late in the first half when Saints’ safety Justin Reid delivered a late hit that broke the wide receiver’s arm.
Bech is going to go on injured reserve, which will force him to miss a minimum of four weeks. Kubiak said that the Raiders have not decided on a roster move to replace Bech.
The most obvious answer will be to keep Cody White on the active roster. White has been on the practice squad all season, but has been elevated for each of the first three games. Players can be elevated from the practice squad three times in a season before teams must sign them to the active roster.
White has managed to catch three touchdown passes on the season, making him an obvious choice to replace Bech.
