The Tennessee Titans held a big practice in front of fans at Nissan Stadium on Saturday, as part of the NFL’s “Back Together Weekend”. A couple thousand loyal fans poured into the lower bowl, braving the midday heat to see Cam Ward and the new-look Titans ahead of their upcoming preseason road trip.
The usual suspects showed out, with the Cam Ward to Calvin Ridley connection shining particularly brightly. One of the most impressive plays of the day ended in disaster, though, and it involved an unfortunately predictable receiver on this roster.
Around the midpoint of practice, the Titans offense began airing the ball out down the field more than we’ve seen so far this week. Former First Round receiver Treylon Burks took off up the right sideline, beating Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
Cam Ward hung the ball up high, Burks turned on the burners to run it down, and laid out to make the catch. He may have technically been out of bounds on the replay, but it was a great snag regardless.

But unfortunately, as we’ve seen too many times from Burks, he got up grimacing. He grabbed at his right shoulder, ran off the field, met with trainers, and took off to the locker room.
Head Coach Brian Callahan gave this statement to media after practice:
“Treylon Burks is being evaluated right now for a shoulder injury and we’ll have an update on his status at the appropriate time.”
Shortly thereafter, Ian Rapport reported that Burks did in fact fracture his collar bone.
#Titans WR Treylon Burks suffered a fractured collarbone here at their stadium practice, per me and @TomPelissero.

Burks will undergo further tests, but he’s expected to miss the start of the season at least. A frustrating outcome for the young pass catcher. pic.twitter.com/Mr2lF9Dcb6
Burks was seen leaving the locker room on a golf cart wearing a sling, per source. With his status on the final 53-man roster already in a very tenuous situation, this injury setback could end his time in Tennessee even sooner. Or perhaps this leads to him being stashed on IR for the year, allowing his contract to run out and both parties to go their separate ways next spring. Either way, Burks is no longer a factor for the 2025 Tennessee Titans.
