Troy Aikman breaks down what the Packers need to do to upset the Cowboys

Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman broke down how the Green Bay Packers could upset the Dallas Cowboys Sunday.

The two teams square off at AT&T Stadium at 4:30 in the latest chapter of the franchise’s historic rivalry. But the Cowboys are certainly the heavy favorite.

However Aikman, a Cowboys legend, sees a path for Green Bay to come out with a win.

“I think there’s a style that you have to play against Dallas,” Aikman said, via the New York Post. “You look at the teams that have been able to have success against them — San Francisco for the last couple of years, Buffalo later in the season this year — you got to be physical with them, and you’ve got to be to run the football. 

“And there’s more that goes to it than that. To play that kind of game against them, you’ve got to be able to then convert on third downs, and your defense at least has to keep the score close. If you get into a game where you’re behind or you’re not running the ball or you abandon it, when you’ve got to ask your offensive line to hold up against this pass rush, it’s just not going to happen, and that’s when things snowball.”

The Cowboys’ pass rush certainly is deadly. It could be a long day for Jordan Love, who’s making his first playoff start.

This year, he had a career year as a full time starter. He had 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a 64.2% completion percentage. 

If Love can make plays and the Packers control the game in terms of physicality, perhaps Green Bay could pull the upset. But the Cowboys went 12-5 this year for a reason.

Dallas landed nine players on the AP First-Team All-Pro list this season.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has earned his very first All-Pro First-Team selection this week, the Associated Press announced on Friday. Lamb, along with cornerback DaRon Bland, kicker Brandon Aubrey and right guard Zack Martin, made the first team while QB Dak Prescott, left guard Tyler Smith, left tackle Tyron Smith, edge rusher Micah Parsons and punter Bryan Anger made the second team.

Prescott had never made the AP All-Pro list until this season. The 30-year-old is having arguably his best year to date, throwing for 4,516 yards, a league-leading 36 touchdowns and nine interceptions on a career-high 69.5% passing.
