You've got love Troy Aikman's way of speaking about the team he won three Super Bowls with.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback can speak the truth in ruthless fashion about his former team but he can also rile up the fanbase with some bold claims here and there.
On Tuesday, Aikman appeared on ABC's Good Morning America and was asked for his Super Bowl pick ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
His broadcast partner Joe Buck went with a very understandable one: The Buffalo Bills led by the reigning MVP Josh Allen. But Aikman threw quite the curveball by simply saying: "Cowboys, yeah!"

Naturally, the bold statement is difficult to take seriously. Not just because the Cowboys are currently projected to miss the postseason but because Aikman was showing a playful smile before even responding.
Since the host warned Buck and Aikman about having ten seconds left on the segment, there wasn't a chance to really dive into the reasoning of their picks anyways, so the experienced field general probably just saw his chance and took it.
You know Aikman—who knew exactly what he was doing given the broad audience of the national show—will be asked to elaborate on his claim as soon as he puts himself in front of reporters. That's the move of a savvy and experienced media personality.
Aikman has been highly critical of the way the Cowboys' front office runs things, something that was made clear during the team's coaching search earlier this year.
"As far as (the Cowboys being) a coveted job, I don't know that that's accurate, the Cowboys are obviously a high profile team (...) but most football people that take over as head coach they want to do it on their terms and that's hard to do (in Dallas)," Aikman said on ESPN in January. "If you take Dan Campbell, for example, is Dan Campbell Dan Campbell if he's with the Dallas Cowboys? It's hard to imagine that he is."
Keeping those comments in mind, I'm definitely taking his latest Super Bowl prediction as a heavy dose of sarcasm until he explicitly says otherwise.
