Troy Aikman Hopes Micah Parsons Relationship Not 'Irreparable' Amid Cowboys Contract Saga

I've often said with the contract saga between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys, how many bridges will be burned before the pen gets put to paper?

The constant verbal bashings in the media aimed at Micah during training camp would rub anyone the wrong way, and to Parsons' credit, he's remained silent, so as not to pour gasoline on the fire that Jerry and Stephen Jones created.

We know what Micah is worth, and you can bet Jerry does too, but as Dak Prescott stated in Oxnard, there is tension and there are emotions that can take over during contract negotiations.

Which is where we think things stand right now, but there is only so much one person can take, and Micah is an emotional person, in a good way, so Jerry better be careful he doesn't push too far.

Former Cowboys quarterback and Hall of Famer Troy Aikman echoed Dak's sentiment and hopes things aren't getting to the stage where there's no way back for Jerry and Micah.

"We all know it's a business," Aikman said in an interview with Michael Irvin. "We all know that there's a negotiation that takes place and there's typically frustration and a lot of animosity that occurs when you're in a negotiation and you're not quite getting what you feel that you're worth. It happens from both sides. Then once you sign, I think a lot of those bad feelings go away and you realize, ah, that was just all part of the process and getting to this point.

"My hope is that they haven't they haven't gotten to a point that's irreparable. I can't imagine Micah not being with the Cowboys. You just don't let those type players leave your building."

Having seen the video clips and pictures posted on social media throughout training camp and Dallas' two night practices at the Ford Center, you can tell Micah wants to be out there with his teammates, and that this whole situation isn't sitting too well with him.

We know how much Micah loves the Cowboys, but there is only so much a person can take before they say enough is enough.

Am I confident Micah gets his deal before Week 1? Yes, but as I've stated repeatedly, how many bridges will be burned in the meantime? That might be the deciding factor in whether or not Parsons signs on the dotted line.
