In 2019, the world got to know the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback better. In 2017, he was a rookie and played one game. In 2018, he won an MVP award but was beaten by Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game.
The next season, everyone got to know that Mahomes would be a guy who could really contend for that "greatest of all time" that everyone gives Tom Brady. Before he won the Super Bowl that year, his success was still displayed, such as tweets from Twitter accounts posting that Mahomes already had a number close to Troy Aikman's touchdown numbers.
Now, Aikman was not really known for his flashiness or anything like that; he was known for winning with the Dallas Cowboys, as he has three Super Bowl rings. So, he responded to that tweet in a pretty odd way.

Now, that was when Mahomes had one ring. After winning the Super Bowl this last year, people revisited the tweet, knowing that Mahomes was then at 66% of his total rings. Now, after this Super Bowl win, they have the same amount of Super Bowl rings; only Patrick Mahomes is in year seven and 28 years old.
Aikman was obviously hurt that a stat showing how average he really is would be put out there. Now, he looks very bad because, in just five years, he did what Troy Aikman had trouble making his entire career.
Aikman has three Super Bowl rings and 165 touchdowns in his career. Mahomes now has three Super Bowl rings and 231 touchdowns.
