Former Super Bowl champion Tom Brady made waves this week when he declared he had no dog in the fight for Super Bowl LX despite his six rings won with the New England Patriots. Those remarks didn't sit well with current players and they aren't sitting well with other NFL legends either.
Appearing on The Musers this week, Aikman declared that Brady is just saying that he can't root for either team due to his status as the Las Vegas Raiders' minority owner and an analyst for FOX. He said that if he were in Brady's shoes and his own beloved Dallas Cowboys were in the Super Bowl, he would absolutely be rooting for the team he won three rings with.
“If the Cowboys were in the Super Bowl, there’s no question I would be rooting for the Cowboys,” Aikman said, via Awful Announcing. “The hard thing I would have is if I was calling the game. Of course, Tom is not calling this game. But if I was calling the game next year and Dallas is in the Super Bowl and I’m asked during the week, ‘Hey, are you rooting for the Cowboys?’ That’s a hard one to answer because you’re calling the game. But outside of that, yeah, it’s kind of an easy question to answer.”

It was on the Let's Go! podcast where Brady declared that he wouldn't be rooting for the Patriots.
“I think there’s always different chapters in your life. And you have different chapters and moments that you go through where you are affiliated with a certain team. Michigan, and then I was with the Patriots for 20 years. I was with Tampa for three amazing years. I’ve been in broadcasting, now I’m an owner of the Raiders. So, those memories that I have are forever ingrained in me and I’m indebted to all the people who worked so hard to help make our team successful,” Brady said.
“And now in a different phase of my life, I really root for people and the people I care about. The people who I know the work that goes in to what they are trying to accomplish. I really want to sit back as a fan and enjoy the game, enjoy the moment. And I always think, may the best team win. It’s not going to be who I’m cheering for or who I think is going to win, it’s going to be decided by the people out there on the field.”
Those comments have gotten Brady mocked or downright criticized by current and former members of the Patriots. He probably didn't mean anything by it, but nobody likes a fence-sitter.
