Tua Tagovailoa gives a much-needed update on his contract talks with the Dolphins
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Unlike last season, when the offseason headlines were flooded with Tua Tagovailoa , he has been keeping quite a low profile this year. However, given the spotlight the quarterback carries, there ought to be speculations, and this time, the most batted one has been his contract talks.

Unfortunately, for the fans, the Miami Dolphins quarterback is in no mood to spill the beans on his potential contract extensions. Last week, during a quick chat with the reporters at his first football clinic in Oahu, Tagovailoa clarified that he’s not revealing his offseason plans, especially his training techniques– given, that they aren’t his focus.

I’m not telling anyone what I’m doing this offseason. That’s what makes me special in my way. I’m a very private person, so I think that’s gonna be in-house. Tua Tagovailoa told via KHON

Although Tagovailoa did everything in his power to stay behind the limelight this offseason, he was still speculated to be spending time with renowned QB coach John Beck , via KHON. Even though the quarterback is holding onto his workout or training plans, what has been observed for sure, is that he has maintained his physique slimmer than what fans saw by the end of the 2023 season.

Tua Tagovailoa reflects positive vibes amid contract talks

Coming to the most important question: what’s happening with the Dolphins’ quarterback contract situation? After signing with Miami in 2020, Tagovailoa has agreed to a fifth-year option with the team, from his rookie contract.

They’ve been good. Right now, I’m letting my agent handle that. I’m focused on my family, I’m focused on continuing to better myself, better my craft and we’ll talk more about that when that time comes. Tua Tagovailoa added

Just a few weeks ago, the Dolphins seemed positive while discussing their quarterback’s deal and now, Tagovailoa seems to reflect the same response. Interestingly, ahead of the Combine in Indianapolis, general manager Chris Grier dialed down the speculations of Tagovailoa’s long-term contract extension, saying it may take time to reach there.
