Throughout the offseason and the regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles have been at the center of much conversation regarding the Tush Push. While everyone has their own opinions on it, the Eagles can still use it and took full advantage of that against the New York Giants.
In the second quarter, as the Eagles are down 13-10, Philly drove down the field and had a third and short. Eagles fans know too well what comes after that. The Tush Push.
New York was actually able to stop it and force a fourth down. Next play, Tush Push again. They converted the first down.
It became first and goal at the one-yard line. Hurts ran the Tush Push a third down and didn't get in the end zone.
One final time, and it was enough for a touchdown. Four Tush Pushes in a row, and it was six points. The Eagles had their lead 17-13.
Week after week, the Eagles have not been afraid to use the Tush Push, but never have they used it four times in a row to score. Two of those were stopped, but it worked out since it helped kill the clock and still score in the process.
It was a win-win for the Eagles, masterfully done. Too bad the rest of the NFL world was not happy about it.
So many took to social media to complain about the play and the fact that the Eagles ran it over and over again. The reality is that the NFL had a chance to block the play, and they couldn't.
Eagles fans can't help but be happy about the way it was used. It might not survive next offseason if it is put to a vote, but for now, they will enjoy using it.
