Two Buccaneers Win Weekly Honors

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers improved to 6-2 on the season after defeating the New Orleans Saints 23-3. The Pewter Pirates sit atop the NFC, and NFC South heading into their bye week.

Bucs’ OLB Anthony Nelson and K Chase McLaughlin earned NFC Player of the Week honors for Week Eight, with Nelson recognized on defense and McLaughlin on special teams – the first Bucs duo to achieve this feat in the same week since 2008.

“Tampa Bay Buccaneers outside linebacker Anthony Nelson has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week Eight, and he won’t be celebrating alone. Buccaneers kicker Chase McLaughlin has also snared NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors. It’s the first such honor for Nelson, while McLaughlin previously won a Player of the Week award with the Indianapolis Colts in 2022.”
