GLENDALE – With the release of EA’s Madden 26 less than a tw0 weeks away, the company has been releasing position rankings based on ratings for the game. The obvious stars of Saquan Barkley, Lamar Jackson and Justin Jefferson top their respective position list, but the Arizona Cardinals were shown some love with two position groups.
After earning his first Pro-Bowl selection last season, tight end Trey McBride earned a 92 overall rating, which places him third behind Travis Kelce and George Kittle. McBride was second in yards and catches for tight ends in 2024, recording 111 receptions for 1,146 receiving yards. Despite not finding the endzone often, the 25-year-old made a statement in his third season.
The second name is a familiar face near the top of his position in safety Budda Baker. The 29-year-old was also given a 92 overall rating but was only good for fourth in the league, behind Jessie Bates III, Derwin James Jr., and Xavier McKinney. Last season, Baker received his sixth straight Pro Bowl appearance, and seventh of his career. He led Arizona in tackles with 164, while having five pass deflections in the secondary.
The only other possible Cardinals players that was snubbed from their position’s top 10 list was James Conner, who recorded back-to-back 1,000+ seasons. However, the running back field in the NFL is stacked, and Conner is in his 30’s, which is typically when running backs begin to regress.
