Two Commanders receivers who need to step up

In what has been a successful season so far in Year 1 under head coach Dan Quinn, the Washington Commanders receiving core took an unexpected blow Wednesday.

Quinn announced that wide receiver Noah Brown suffered a "serious internal injury" and will be out for an extended period of time.

After being released by the Texans in the offseason, Brown signed with Washington and has put together a solid season. He ranks third in catches (35) and yards (453) for Washington this season.

Brown's production will be hard to replicate, but Washington does have the depth to try to replace the production.

Luke McCaffrey and Dyami Brown are two receivers that will need to increase their production. McCaffrey was Washington's third round pick in the 2024 draft and Brown was drafted by Washington in the third round in 2021.

McCaffrey has yet to find a groove as a professional, as he has just 16 catches for 155 yards so far this season. Brown has 20 catches for 206 yards on the season.

Sunday's game against the Saints will be a big opportunity for Washington's receiving core. The Saints defense ranks 26th in passing yards allowed per game (246.3)

With Noah Brown out, it means more opportunities for everyone else.

Sunday would be a great opportunity for McCaffrey and Brown to find a rhythm and get into a groove before Washington's Week 16 game against the Eagles.
