The Miami Dolphins' new quarterback, Malik Willis, has a massive opportunity awaiting him.
The Dolphins, thanks to their leadership ties to Willis in Green Bay, are offering Willis as chance to become 'The Man' in Miami. And he's already hard at work to prep for his big chance as a full-time starter. But it's not just the work that Willis is doing — it's who he is doing it with. Willis has looped in one of his new wide receivers into his throwing sessions, as we found out thanks to Willis' private coach, Sean McEvoy.

Go ahead and file this one in the 'Things You Love To See' category. Jalen Tolbert and Malik Willis are grabbing reps together weeks before the report date for the Miami Dolphins' offseason program.
Willis will need to be his best to quiet the speculation around if he's a legitimate long-term starter or not — and being your best requires going above and beyond in all phases in the NFL. Getting the offseason training and throwing sessions together is great. But to commence those sessions with one of your new wide receiver targets?
That's the kind of extra time on task that could make a difference when the games start. Jalen Tolbert has plenty of opportunity ahead for him this upcoming season as well. After a strong 2024 season, his 2025 campaign was ate into by a two-headed monster of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Miami's wide receiver room is wide open with snaps for the taking.
Getting these reps now doesn't guarantee anything. Other than, of course, that these two are willing to go above and beyond to try to find an edge. That's as good as we can ask for in late March.
