Two Packers players are catching the eye of another team that might be ready to give them a real opportunity to stick

The 90-man rosters in the offseason are a big tool for NFL teams to give more players an opportunity. But that's not the only way for football athletes to keep their careers going if things don't pan out in the big league. The CFL, in Canada, has a long history of reviving players' trajectories.

For the first time ever, the CFL is releasing their full negotiation list. This doesn't mean the players will go to Canada, but if they decide to do it, the corresponding team has the negotiating rights. And two players currently on the Green Bay Packers roster are there—curiously, both are on the same team's list.

Two Packers players on the CFL negotiation list

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have offensive lineman Brant Banks and cornerback Gregory Junior on their list, and both are on the Packers roster at the moment.

Brant Banks is an undrafted rookie who signed with the Packers right after the draft. He started his college career at Nebraska, then transferred to Rice in 2023. He started 13 games at left guard in 2023 and 12 at right tackle in 2024.

Gregory Junior has more football experience. A 26-year-old player, he has been in the NFL since 2022, when he was a sixth-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars. After two full years in Jacksonville, he was cut during training camp in 2024. He spent parts of the last calendar year with the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans before signing with the Packers in May. The cornerback impressed early on, even getting some first-team reps during the offseason program.
