The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine is just around the corner. Accordingly, there are some prospects who can take their stock to the next level with their testing numbers.

Recently, Ryan Roberts and Joe DeLeone broke down a handful of offensive prospects who could really dominate at the combine, and in turn, be taken earlier than currently expected in this year's draft.

Tight ends could shake up round one for Chargers

Tight end remains a need for the Los Angeles Chargers as of now. Their production from the position in 2024 was inconsistent, and Will Dissly struggled in their playoff loss to the Houston Texans.

With that, they may take a hard look at a tight end class that has some impressive talent throughout it in this year's draft. Two names, in particular, may be on LA's radar on day one to kick off the selection process.

Tyler Warren

Warren is widely considered the top TE prospect in this class - for good reason. His usage at Penn State, alone, was incredibly exciting to watch and gave him a unique blueprint for NFL teams.

The Chargers will probably have interest in him, but trade up for Warren may have to be in the cards for LA if they're in love with him as a prospect. Not to mention, how he tests may improve his stock even further, as Roberts notes below.

In reality, Warren doesn’t have to test to solidify his standing in this class. It would, however, be pretty cool to see him in action. At 6-6 and 260 pounds, he’s a rare athlete at the position. With a strong showing at the event, Warren could not only cement his place in a strong tight end group, but as a top ten overall player in the class. -- Ryan Roberts

Colston Loveland

Loveland is arguably the most-mocked player for Los Angeles in recent mock drafts. Often, Warren does not fall to them, but Loveland does.

If he's available, it is tough to see Jim Harbaugh passing on his former Michigan playmaker. Loveland's athleticism is going to create plenty of hype over the next couple of weeks, too.

Loveland saw a dip in production in 2024 as a part of a putrid Michigan passing offense. He finished that season with 56 receptions for 582 yards and five touchdowns. Known as an extremely smooth and versatile athlete, Loveland has a chance to recapture some draft hype back when a big showing. -- Ryan Roberts

Free agency will change the needs of every team, including the Chargers. That being said, it is tough to see them adding a massive addition at the position with the impending free agents at tight end.

Los Angeles is a team to keep an eye on because of their dire need to give more receiving help to quarterback Justin Herbert. These two TEs make a ton of sense for them in round one of the 2025 NFL Draft.
