Ty Simpson is borrowing a page from Shedeur Sanders’ playbook. The Alabama quarterback made a bold pitch at his Pro Day. It’s a move that could put him squarely on the Cleveland Browns’ radar.
In a clip shared by Dov Kleiman on X, reporters asked Simpson why pro teams should hire him. He cited his love for the sport, success at Alabama, and collaborative traits as good enough reasons.
“I’m resilient. I love football,” Simpson said. “I’m a program changer. I don’t just make myself better, I make other people better. So, if you draft me and you want me to be your franchise quarterback, I am not just coming into it looking after myself. I am looking for the whole team.”
Considering just one playoff game in the last five years (a Wild Card loss to the Houston Texans in 2023), Cleveland would certainly be interested in a “program changer.”
Simpson’s track record speaks for itself. The 23-year-old quarterback completed 64.5 percent of his passes and boasted 28 touchdowns for 3,567 yards against just five interceptions only last season.
More importantly, with Simpson, the Crimson Tide went 11-4 last year. This was a leap from the 9-4 record in 2024

Simpson is widely associated with the Cleveland Browns and predicted to be a round one pick. Which he “absolutely” believes would happen. Simpson’s faith in himself is similar to Sanders’s, although the latter ruffled some feathers.
After an unstable four-quarterback season (with the veteran Joe Flacco), the Browns’ management has refused to name Sanders or anyone else a QB1 in 2026.
The Browns’ recent struggles were evident, largely due to instability at quarterback.
