Tyler Lockett’s Parting Message to DK Metcalf After Seahawks’ Decision

Tyler Lockett bid an emotional farewell to the Seattle Seahawks and his longtime teammate DK Metcalf after the team decided to release him.

The veteran wide receiver took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post, reflecting on his bond with Metcalf and their journey together in Seattle.

Lockett captioned a photo of him and Metcalf standing side by side on the field, their jersey numbers visible as they looked out ahead.

"My Dawg!!!” Lockett wrote, “2019 we became teammates!! 2025 we leave the team together as best friends!!"

The post quickly sparked a wave of reactions from Seahawks fans, who flooded the comments with emotions ranging from sadness to gratitude.

"Tyler I’m sad rn pls help me," one fan pleaded.

"Seattle is losing two of its greatest warriors, and it hurts more than words can say," another shared.

The outpouring of support continued with messages like, "Always Seahawks Legends to me," and "Thank you for making my childhood."

"This can’t be real life this has to be a dream," a supporter added, while another follower simply stated, "Breaking our hearts!" one expressed disbelief.

Tyler Lockett’s release came as part of a significant roster shake-up by the Seahawks. The team made the difficult decision to part ways with the 32-year-old wide receiver in order to save cap space.

The Seahawks also traded quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders and sent DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers for draft picks, per AP News.

With the trio of Smith, Lockett and Metcalf now out of the Seahawks, the team find themselves entering a new chapter. However, for fans and players alike, the legacy of Lockett and Metcalf as one of the franchise’s most dynamic receiving duos will not be forgotten.
