Earlier this season, I wrote about Tyler Loop and the opportunity he had to bounce back after the disastrous end to his 2025 season. Missing a 44-yard field goal against the Pittsburgh Steelers with Baltimore’s season on the line would be a brutal way for any kicker to end their year, let alone a rookie.

However, that moment has not carried over to Loop’s results this season. He has made nine of his 11 field-goal attempts while converting all five of his tries from 50-plus yards.

A Great Bounceback

Loop has already produced several noteworthy moments this season. The most impressive came against the Tennessee Titans, when he drilled a 64-yard field goal, just four yards shy of the NFL record. He delivered against the Atlanta Falcons as well, converting two 51-yard attempts that helped keep Baltimore within striking distance before its eventual 30-23 overtime victory. Loop has not simply blended into the background or made a living converting shorter attempts. Baltimore has repeatedly trusted him from long range, and through five games he has rewarded that confidence time and time again.

That response is encouraging considering Loop entered the season with more than just last year’s miss hanging over him. He also endured an uneven preseason, prompting Baltimore to bring in Jake Moody as competition. Loop did not let this break his confidence and has proven that he can be trusted in high-leverage situations. There is plenty of season left, but so far, Loop has put last season behind him and made the most out of receiving another opportunity to prove himself.
