Tyrann Mathieu deletes tweet about clash with Tom Brady: 'He called me something I won't repeat'

Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Tyrann Mathieu explained his side of what led to a heated confrontation with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady in a since-deleted tweet following Super Bowl LV.

Mathieu indicated that Brady called him something he "won't repeat" before deleting the tweet. He later tweeted "Blessed & grateful! God is Good!"

After the game, Mathieu did not comment on the confrontation, adding that Brady is a tremendous player.

"Listen, Tom Brady’s a great quarterback. I never really saw that side of Tom Brady, to be honest. But whatever. No comment. it’s over with. I’m done with it," Mathieu said, according to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk.

Brady targeted Mathieu several times in coverage. He appeared to have intercepted the 43-year-old before it was overturned due to a penalty. Mathieu was also covering Antonio Brown on his one-yard touchdown before halftime.

Mathieu and the Chiefs were unable to stop Brady in his pursuit of a seventh title, falling 31-9 in the big game. The former New England Patriot completed 21-of-29 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns.
