Tyreek Hill’s 2025 season ended abruptly after just four games. The veteran wide receiver suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 4, tearing his ACL and dislocating his knee, which required surgery and sidelined him for the remainder of the year. He finished the season with 21 receptions for 265 yards and one touchdown.
That injury ultimately factored into the Miami Dolphins’ decision to release him in February 2026, a move tied to both cap considerations and uncertainty surrounding his recovery. His release immediately sparked widespread speculation about his next destination, with multiple teams linked to the eight-time Pro Bowler. Among them, a potential reunion with the Kansas City Chiefs has generated the most buzz, considering Hill’s successful stint in Kansas City.
Drafted by the Chiefs in 2016, he developed into one of the league’s most explosive playmakers and formed a dominant partnership with Patrick Mahomes. He also played a key role in the franchise’s Super Bowl win in 2019 before he was traded to Miami in 2022. His familiarity with Chiefs’ offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and proven production have made the possibility of a return a natural talking point throughout the offseason.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid recently addressed the speculation but downplayed any immediate move. “Listen, we go through everything and everybody. That’s how Brett (Veach) does,” Reid said back in February. “I don’t even know if Tyreek is healthy right now to do anything… There’s nothing happening there.”
Despite those comments, the rumors have refused to go away and it remains to be seen if the Chiefs will eventually make a move to sign Hill in the offseason.
Amid the uncertainty, Hill shared a personal update with fans on Monday. The 32-year-old star receiver announced a store closing event in Miami via his Instagram stories, and encouraged his fans to attend.
Hill will be signing items purchased in-store during the event, which is set to take place at Aventura Mall on Friday.
The announcement comes just days after Hill reportedly listed his $7.7 million Florida mansion for sale, a move that signals he is likely preparing for his next destination.
While no formal deal has been reported, Hill continues to be linked to Kansas City as he works through his recovery and evaluates his options for the 2026 season.
