Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill saw his 2025 season get cut very short thanks to a gruesome injury. In the second half of Miami’s win over the New York Jets back in September, Hill dislocated his knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, and he had to be carted off the field.
While Hill’s season-ending injury was untimely and consequential to Miami’s season, fast forward nearly six months to the current day, and the 31-year-old has allegedly made quite a bit of progress in his recovery. Hill recently revealed to People magazine that he is no longer walking with a brace and has been off it for a little while now.
“I’m feeling good,” he said. “I mean, I’m walking with no brace on right now. I’m in my second week of walking with no brace, so I’m proud of that. So I’m feeling good.”
Hill appeared in just four games for the Dolphins in the 2025 campaign and amassed 265 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown to go along with 17 first downs receiving before getting hurt. He also averaged 66.3 receiving yards per game in his fourth season playing for Miami.
It’s beginning to seem more and more likely that Hill will be healthy enough to take the field at some point during the 2026 season, but he could be playing for a team not named the Dolphins by then. There’s a real possibility that the Dolphins decide to release him in the coming weeks or months when factoring in his age, decline in play and hefty contract. His cap hit for next season alone is a whopping $51.1 million.
But if the Dolphins do elect to move on from Hill via releasing him, expect a litany of contending teams around the league to be jockeying for his services. There likely would be no shortage of squads around the NFL that would take a chance on him in the hope that he can get back to being an elite wideout again. It wasn’t that long ago when Hill was arguably the most talented wide receiver in all of football, as in the 2023 season, he paced the league in total receiving yards as well as receiving yards per game.
