Tyreek Hill watched on as the Miami Dolphins missed the NFL playoffs for a second straight season, finishing 2025 with a 7-10 record after losing three of their final four games. And with another failure for the franchise, the Dolphins elected to part ways with head coach Mike McDaniel, replacing him with Jeff Hafley.
Hill was forced to miss a majority of his fourth year in Miami after suffering a serious knee injury in Week 4, dislocating his knee and tearing his ACL. But in the four games he did play, the 31-year-old wide receiver proved he still has some juice left, recording 21 catches for 265 yards and a touchdown.
However, after four seasons with the team, including two All-Pro selections, the Dolphins decided it was time for a change and released Hill on Tuesday. The move makes Hill a free agent, and rumors are circulating that he could reunite with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs during free agency.
Hill spent his first six NFL seasons with the Chiefs, earning four All-Pro selections and winning Super Bowl LIV. And with Kansas City missing the playoffs for the first time in 10 years, the team could be looking to make significant moves this offseason as well. Even defensive tackle Chris Jones has urged Hill to return to Kansas City.
Sure enough, on Wednesday, just weeks before free agency opens, Hill made a return to Kansas City, posting a selfie on Snapchat using the city’s filter.
