It's the first week of August, which means the Miami Dolphins have been in training camp for a couple of weeks now. It means the preseason slate is about to start in full across the league.
And it means the Miami Dolphins are dealing with more than their share of injuries, as usual.
Serious injury struck quickly, with starting CB Kader Kohou suffering a season-ending knee injury. More impact players have been banged up, including RT Austin Jackson, CB Sam Smith, FB Alec Ingold, and others have been absent due to injury, with Ingold the latest in concussion protocol, per Mike McDaniel on Wednesday.
However, Tyreek Hill was the noticeable absence on Wednesday due to an apparent undisclosed injury, per C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald. The Herald's Omar Kelly noted he saw him pull himself from practice on Tuesday.

Hill dealt with a wrist injury throughout the 2024 season that he ultimately had surgery on in the offseason to repair. While the Dolphins' passing game was broken for a number of reasons in 2024 - largely due to Tua Tagovailoa's absence for 6 games and an offensive line that couldn't run block to save their lives - Hill never quite looked like himself and was clearly limited throughout the season.
A less than 100% Hill for the Dolphins' start of the season would obviously be a problem, so we'll see if he can get back on the practice field and quell concerns quickly. Regardless, while there was little chance anyways, it seems all but certain you can count out seeing the Dolphins' superstar on the field on Sunday afternoon, when Miami opens up its preseason action against the Chicago Bears. We'll see if he can at least get back on the practice field again on Friday, when the Dolphins and Bears hold a joint practice in the Windy City ahead of their weekend tilt.
