Tyreek Hill to pay the salary of cameraman suspended by the NFL

One of the greatest moments of Kevin Fitzgibbons’ career also may have permanently derailed it too.

The 20-year-old cameraman and NFL digital content creator captured one of the bigger viral moments of the NFL season in Week 6 when Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill grabbed his phone and used it to record himself doing a backflip after scoring a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers.

Weeks later, the NFL suspended Fitzgibbons and revoked his credentials for the rest of the season for allowing Hill to use his phone as a prop in his touchdown celebration. This didn’t sit right with Hill, who told reporters that he was going to pay Fitzgibbons’ salary for the rest of the year.

“I told him, ‘Don’t let this get to you man, just hold your head up,'” Hill said. “’You’re still young, so continue to do what you love.’ Obviously, me and him are going to continue to work together and I told him I was going to cover his salary, you know, whatever the NFL was going to pay him. I was going to make sure that I do what’s right and take care of [him] and that [he’s] not out of a job.”

Fitzgibbons actually made a video on Tuesday explaining the situation and exactly what the NFL told him about losing his credentials. Check it out.

Hill and Fitzgibbons had a previous working relationship prior to this season that began when Fitzgibbons was in high school and began networking with NFL players, including Hill, at just 17 years old.

When the All-Pro receiver was traded to the Dolphins ahead of the 2022 season, Fitzgibbons, who attends the University of Miami, reached out and the two continued creating content together.
