Tyreek Hill Unlikely To Sign By Week 1

Tyreek Hill‘s NFL future remains unclear as he recovers from a massive leg injury. A free agent spell which began in February is likely to continue through the start of the season.

During a Friday appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said he does not expect a signing to take place prior to Week 1. After being limited to four games in 2025, Hill expectedly saw his Dolphins tenure come to an end with a release. He is not considered a lock to play at all this season, although Rosenhaus expressed optimism a return to action at some point midway through the coming campaign will be in store.

Without a firm timeline in place for Hill’s next deal to be worked out, it remains uncertain where the eight-time Pro Bowler will play next. Nevertheless, multiple teams are believed to be interested in this case. One of Hill’s suitors may be the Chiefs, and he has expressed a fondness for his original team. Kansas City’s receiver depth chart has faced plenty of questions since Hill was traded to Miami in 2022.

Off-field concerns have been present throughout Hill’s career, and at the age of 32 the speedster could face doubts about his ability to return to his previous form upon recovering. Hill said last month he had “no power” in his injured left leg, although Rosenhaus noted the five-time All-Pro has continued to make progress in his rehab. Nevertheless, a clean bill of health in time for the start of the season is not anticipated.

As a result, Hill’s ability to make himself available during the middle of the season will make for an intriguing league storyline. The size and nature of his free agent mark will of course be worth monitoring closely as well. Any suitor could attempt to work out a deal now and spend the early portions of the fall with Hill on the mend, but it appears his next pact will not come about while he is still injured.
