The UCLA Bruins 2026 football recruiting class took a significant hit on Thursday with the decommitment of twin brothers Jaron and Kennan Pula — two of the top prospects out of Utah.
The Lone Peak High School duo announced their decisions separately via social media. Jaron, a four-star wide receiver ranked No. 5 in Utah and No. 35 nationally at his position by 247Sports, thanked the Bruins staff for their belief in him, writing:
“After talking with my family and giving this a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to de-commit from UCLA and reopen my recruitment.”
Kennan, a three-star athlete who could play wide receiver or safety, quickly followed suit.
“After careful consideration, I’ve decided to de-commit and reopen my recruitment. Excited for what’s ahead,” he posted.

The decisions came on the heels of an official visit to Utah, their second official visit following one to UCLA in May. Blair Angulo of 247Sports hinted at the move earlier this week, noting it was “likely to happen.”
The twins were cornerstone pieces in what had been a top-10 Bruins recruiting class under first-year head coach DeShaun Foster. With their departure, UCLA has dropped to No. 14 in the national rankings, according to 247Sports.
Analyst Greg Biggins praised Jaron’s “rare traits” and NFL upside, citing his size (6-foot-3, 185 pounds), ball skills, and route-running ability. As for Kennan, Biggins noted that he may project even better as a safety due to his instincts and frame (6-foot-2, 195 pounds).
Both athletes will suit up for Lone Peak High this fall after transferring from Timpview. With their recruitment back open, Utah and several Power Five programs are expected to stay in hot pursuit.
