UCLA Football: Watch Former Bruins Standout Notch Epic TD Against Champs
USA TODAY Sports

NFL Sunday means that many UCLA Bruins fans get to watch  their team's former stars play at the next level.

This past Sunday, it was former Bruin standout running back Joshua Kelley who broke a big run during the game, reminding viewers of his explosive running ability.

Joshua Kelley is in his fourth year with the Chargers after the team drafted him in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

In those four years, Kelley has been serviceable with the limited play time that he has received but after a big offseason, he was locked into the number 2 running back spot behind Austin Ekeler.

After Ekeler went down with an injury Kelley had to step up into the starting role for the Chargers for the next three games.

With Ekeler now back Kelley returned to his secondary role, but that did not stop him from making big plays.

On the year, Kelley has 284 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Kelley was a standout running back for the Bruins from 2018-2019. In those two years, Kelley tallied 2,303 yards on the ground to go along with 24 rushing touchdowns.

His hard-nosed style of running is what got him drafted by the Chargers and he has continued his play with them. Despite his secondary role to Ekeler, the Chiefs game is proof that he can handle an expanded role if given the chance.

While the Chargers did not walk away with the win against the Kansas City Chiefs, the team has much to look up to and realize that this ground attack with Kelley and Ekeler might be the real deal.
