Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs got back on track in Week 11, securing a 6-5 record on the 2025 NFL season after taking out Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts 23-20 in overtime. Now, the Chiefs will look to make it two-straight wins in Week 13, hitting the road to face Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving.
Despite the loss, the Colts’ defense contained Kelce throughout the day, holding the former Cincinnati Bearcats tight end to just four catches for 43 yards. But that didn’t stop Patrick Mahomes from doing what he does best, leading the Chiefs on a game-tying drive in the final seconds of regulation and the game-winning drive in overtime.
But while Kelce, 36, didn’t have the impact on the stat sheet many hoped for, he was on the field for 84 of Kansas City’s 96 offensive snaps (87.5%) against Indianapolis, his most in a single game since Week 14 of the 2018 season, when he logged 85 snaps in a 27–24 overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens. Prior to Week 12, Kelce's highest mark of the season was 58 snaps in the Week 8 win over the Washington Commanders.
Through 11 games this season, the Chiefs have run 770 offensive snaps, and Kelce has played 596 of them, a rate of 77.4%. Even with his heavy workload against the Colts, that number is still below his 2024 mark, when he played 1,040-of-1,266 total snaps (82.1%), including the playoffs, a drop of 4.7%.
"According to Pro Football Reference, Travis Kelce's 84 snaps against the Colts is the most he's played in a single game since 2018 (85 snaps vs. BAL on 12/9)," 96.5 the Fan's Joshua Brisco wrote on X. "He is 36 years old."
