Urban Meyer doesn't agree with where the Tennessee Vols are ranked in first College Football Playoff rankings

The first College Football Playoff rankings were revealed on Tuesday night and the Tennessee Vols are currently ranked at No. 7.

(Tennessee would be the No. 8 seed if the playoff started today due to BYU, the projected Big 12 champion, receiving a first round bye.)

Former Florida Gators/Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer gave his take on the playoff rankings during this week's The Triple Option and he didn't completely agree with the Vols' ranking.

Meyer thinks that Indiana, which is 9-0 entering the final few weeks of the season, should be ranked ahead of Tennessee, which is 7-1 with four games remaining.

"Tennessee ahead of Indiana," said Meyer. "That's one that I probably would've put Indiana ahead of -- I watched them both play -- and of course you've got some incredible talent at Tennessee. But I'd take, right now, Indiana over Tennessee."

Meyer isn't the only person in the national media that thinks Indiana should be ranked above Tennessee.

Sports Illustrated's Pat Forde feels like Indiana should be ranked much higher than they are.

"The Buckeyes and Bulldogs deserve to be ahead of Indiana and BYU, but not Texas, Penn State and Tennessee," wrote Forde after the playoff rankings were revealed.

There are still four weeks left in the regular season. The rankings in early December will look much different than the rankings we saw on Tuesday night. And several of the debates that are currently taking place -- such as the debate about Tennessee and Indiana -- will likely be resolved via on-field results before the final playoff rankings are revealed in a month.
