Urban Meyer's Change in Physical Appearance Draws Attention

Urban Meyer hasn't graced the sidelines as a head coach of a college football program since his final year at Ohio State in 2018, but has remained heavily involved in the sport thanks to his role as an analyst for Fox.

On Thursday, ahead of his return to Utah, where he served as head coach from 2003 to 2004, Fox's "Big Noon Kickoff" captured the attention of fans after posting headshots of Meyer throughout his career.

Most known for his time at Florida and Ohio State, where he won three championships combined, Meyer worked at a handful of programs around the country before truly getting his big break. The College Football Hall of Fame coach got his first chance at age 22, and took it and ran with it as seen in the photos.

Fans flooded to the comments to commemorate his legendary career.

"Legend," wrote one fan.

"@CoachUrbanMeyer bring back the stash," demanded another.

"THE GODFATHER! GO UTES," said a third.

"Changed the trajectory of @Utah_Football forever," commented another.

"Huge," wrote one fan.

Ironically, his college coaching career started where it finished as he got his first opportunity as a grad assistant at Ohio State from 1986-87. He then was a position coach at Illinois State from 1988-89. Meyer then moved out west to Colorado State, where he served as the wide receivers coach from 1990-95. He then accepted the same role at Notre Dame from 1996-2000, before getting his first head coaching gig at Bowling Green from 2001-02.

After going 17-6 in his first two years, Meyer accepted the head coach job at Utah, where he went 22-2 in two years, leading the team to a Fiesta Bowl victory in 2004. That opportunity led him to being tabbed as the Florida Gators head coach from 2005-10, where he went 65-15 and won two championships.

Meyer stepped away from coaching before the 2011 season and took a gig with ESPN before returning to coaching at Ohio State from 2012-18, adding another title to his resume.

He was the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars for 13 games in 2021 before being fired, and has been with Fox since.

He and the crew will be on for a Big 12 clash between No. 17 Texas Tech and No. 16 Utah on Saturday in a game that will air at 12:00 p.m. ET on Fox.
