USC Trojans QB Caleb Williams’ Penthouse Sparks Debate About Reggie Bush’s Heisman Trophy
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

USC Trojans QB Caleb Williams has had a phenomenal college football career on and off the field. He has done such a good job on the field that he is projected to be the top quarterback selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. Thanks to this, Williams is being rewarded off of the field as well.

Caleb Williams Has an Amazing Penthouse

Recently, a picture of Caleb Williams in his Los Angeles penthouse has spread all across social media. Many people are in shock at just how well this college football star is living. Older fans call it a sign of the times and note how beneficial NIL rights and money are to players like Williams.

NIL and Caleb Williams

Thanks to NIL, Caleb Williams has heavily benefited off of the field. He has appeared in several commercials during the 2023 college football season alone. This is for companies such as Dr. Pepper, Nissan, Wendy’s, PlayStation, and more.

Thanks to these commercials and sponsorships, it has allowed Williams to live a luxurious lifestyle before he even became a professional football player. Few places could beat living in the Los Angeles area to do so. However, one former USC Trojan did not get to reap all of these benefits while he had a legendary career.

Reggie Bush’s Career With the USC Trojans

Reggie Bush had a legendary career with the USC Trojans. The former running back played for USC from 2003-2005. He even won the Heisman Trophy in 2005. So, how did Bush stand out?

Bush had 3,169 rushing yards, 25 rushing touchdowns, 1,301 receiving yards, and 13 touchdown receptions. As a result, he was the second overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. So, how does he compare to Caleb Williams?

Back when Reggie Bush played football for USC, he was arguably the biggest college football star in the country. He had a similar status to what Williams has now in the college football world. Yet, he was not allowed to take advantage of all of the NIL benefits.

When Bush played college football, players were not allowed to receive a dime of the profits. The NCAA had very strict rules about this less than 20 years ago. It got to the point where Bush got in trouble when it came out that he accepted about $100,000 worth of gifts while he was in college. Because of this, he had to return his Heisman Trophy.

Social Media Reaction to Williams and Bush

Social media has had a field day once they discovered where Caleb Williams lives. A lot of users have commented on Reggie Bush’s Heisman Trophy. Here are some of the notable comments:

“Time to give Reggie Bush back his Heisman.”

“After seeing this, I demand Reggie Bush gets his Heisman Trophy back. My oh my.”

“I despise USC but Bush deserves the Heisman back.”

Then, a few more users shared the image of Williams in this penthouse. They echoed the responses above, demanding that Reggie Bush get his Heisman Trophy back. One user even said it was “wild” that Bush got his Heisman Trophy taken away for a fraction of what Caleb Williams has received.

This could just be a sign of the times. In reality, it is a symbol of something that should have happened more than 20 years ago. Now, current college athletes get to reap the benefits of progress.
