Unfortunately for New York Giants kicker Graham Gano, the 2025 season has been a nightmare on and off the field.
Prior to missing a 45-yard goal against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9, Gano was perfect on the season. However, he has already missed four games due to a groin injury. He was replaced by Jude McAtamney, who missed two extra point attempts in a brutal loss to the Denver Broncos.
While the Giants would love to just lean on Gano for the rest of the season, he's once again dealing with an injury. He's not practicing this week due a neck injury, per head coach Brian Daboll.
Speaking to reporters Thursday afternoon, Gano issued an apology to Giants fans for being hurt this season. He also took full accountability for his missed field goal last Sunday.
Gano then revealed that he received a message on social media that said, "Get cancer and die." A message from another social media user read: "Go kill yourself."
If Gano can't suit up for this weekend's game against the Chicago Bears, fans will get to see Younghoe Koo back in action.
"We’re going to get Koo ready to go, and if he has to be the guy, he’ll be the guy," Daboll told reporters.
Koo was cut by the Atlanta Falcons earlier this season after a successful run from 2019-2025. He has has made 181-of-211 career field goal attempts.
