Well, if there is one thing Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is, he is blunt and straight to the point.
Before the Eagles' practice, Fangio spoke with the media and was asked about his rookie linebacker Jihaad Campbell and how he was doing. Fangio made an admission about how the team has handled Campbell over the first two weeks of camp.
“We’re probably guilty of putting a little too much on his plate. But time is coming," Fangio said via Bleeding Green Nation's Brandon Lee Gowton. "The days [of training camp] are disappearing.”
The former first round pick has been getting a ton of praise from Eagles media for his play and aggressiveness on the field. Campbell was seen over the weekend starting to get some reps off the edge. Fangio didn't seem too wowed by Campbell's edge abilities.
“He needs a lot of work at it.”

To be fair to Campbell, he only recently got back on the practice field after he missed offseason workouts for his recovery from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder. He was able to jump in and impress everyone with his playing skills.
Fangio has not been one to lavish many compliments on players during training camp. He's called out Adoree' Jackson and challenged him after not being re-signed by the Tennessee Titans or the New York Giants.
This is all part of the process for Fangio and one that no Eagles fan will question. The Eagles had the number one defense in the NFL and were second in scoring defense last year. Their dominance during the postseason helped Philly win its second Super Bowl title.
Campbell looks the part of a guy who is going to be a playmaker for this defense, whether that's this year or next. Fangio will continue to coach tough, but Eagles fans know they have someone special in the former Alabama linebacker.
