Vic Fangio: 'No separation' between Drew Lock, Teddy Bridgewater

Stop us if you've heard this one before: Denver Broncos coach Vic Fangio sees no clear-cut leader in the clubhouse in the quarterback competition between 2019 draft pick Drew Lock and veteran Teddy Bridgewater.

Per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, Fangio spoke with reporters Friday about the battling signal-callers but didn't offer much insight.

"They’ve been pretty consistent, both of them," Fangio said of Lock and Bridgewater. "I see no separation, if that’s what you’re asking."

If those words look familiar to Denver fans or others following the situation, that's likely because Fangio said in early June that it was "too early to come to any conclusions one way or the other" about the quarterbacks. He's also explained the contest will "be a 50-50 proposition," and NFL Network's James Palmer reported last week Fangio may not make a final decision until after Denver plays all three of its August preseason games.

With Aaron Rodgers returning to the Green Bay Packers for at least one more season and Seattle Seahawks starter Russell Wilson staying put through the Super Bowl, Fangio will eventually have to choose between Lock or Bridgewater.

Fortunately, he has plenty of time to make a call that he can ultimately reverse at any point this fall.
