Video Shows Aidan Hutchinson's Incredible Progress With Recovery

Detroit Lions pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson is recovering from a season-ending leg injury.

He only played in five games during the 2024 season before he was lost for the year. He compiled 19 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, and a forced fumble.

Had he stayed healthy, he would've been in the running for Defensive Player of the Year. He was trying to return for Super Bowl LIX if the Lions had made it there but they lost in the divisional round of the playoffs in January.

Hutchinson has made some outstanding progress over the last few months and is now back to running on the football field.

This is great news for the Lions and their fans since he's their best defensive player. There's a decent chance he could be ready for OTAs and mandatory minicamp later this year before training camp starts in July.

Prior to the 2024 season, he had played in 17 games in each of the previous two seasons, compiling over 50 tackles and nine sacks. His best season came in 2023 when he finished with 51 total tackles, 11.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and seven passes defended.

He'll be fully healthy for the start of the 2025 season when the Lions start another quest to win their first Super Bowl. They won 15 games during the 2024 season and got the top seed in the NFC before losing to the Washington Commanders in the NFC playoffs.

This was seen as their best shot to win a Super Bowl before they fell short. They then lost defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn to the New York Jets and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to the Chicago Bears.

Both are now head coaches in the NFL after how great of a job they did as coordinators.
