The Houston Texans made their way to Dallas for a Week 11 Monday Night Football matchup against the Cowboys.

Before the game even kicked off, the Cowboys opened AT&T Stadium's retractable roof and a large piece of sheet metal broke loose and came crashing down toward the field.

Someone could have been seriously injured with players out on the field for warm-ups, but fortunately, no one was hurt.

Shortly after, ESPN, which was broadcasting the game, shared a clip of the sheet metal falling during its pregame show, "Monday Night Countdown."

Those on the field, along with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, were seen looking up at where the sheet metal had fallen from.

The Cowboys released a statement ahead of kickoff:

We can confirm a piece of metal came loose and fell to the field (with some additional small debris) while the roof was in the process of opening. There were no injures. It is being reviewed further, and a decision regarding the ability to re-open the roof safely will be made when possible.

The Cowboys planned to have the roof open for the first time in two seasons, but after the incident, they decided to close it. As a result, fans will have to wait even longer to attend a game with the roof open.
