Vikings bench Ed Ingram, start Dalton Risner vs. Titans

The Minnesota Vikings are shaking up their offensive line as Dalton Risner starts at right guard and Ed Ingram is sent to the bench for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.

Ingram was a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft but was part of the infamous trade-down for Lewis Cine.

Ingram has started 42 games for the Vikings but was one of the lowest-graded offensive linemen as a rookie. While he cut his total number of pressures by 33 percent in his second season, he currently ranks 60th among 62 qualifying guards in Pro Football Focus's pass-blocking grades this season.

Ingram's struggles opens the door for Risner who will make his season debut on Sunday. Risner has been a liability in run blocking but has been stronger in pass protection and was solid for the Vikings playing at left guard last season.

But Risner will make his first start at a new position and add an interesting layer of intrigue against Titans defensive tackles Jeffery Simmons, Sebastian Joseph-Day and T'Vondre Sweat.

The 7-2 Vikings face the 2-7 Titans at noon at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on Sunday.
