Vikings' first-round pick for 2024 NFL Draft is official
Lon Horwedel-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings ended the season on a four-game skid and there are plenty of questions heading into the offseason.

One of said questions is where the team picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. It's still too early to carve out the official list of picks, but we can go ahead and chisel in the Vikings' first-rounder, now that the 2023 regular season is officially over.

And, the Vikings are set to pick 11th overall in April.

This is Minnesota's highest first-round pick since the team drafted cornerback Trae Waynes at, yep, No. 11 in 2015. The Vikings haven't picked higher than 18th, since, which is a good reflection of the franchise's recent, sustained success. Outside of 2023, of course.

Vikings could certainly take a quarterback at No. 11

Kirk Cousins' future in Minnesota was already cloudy before he suffered a season-ending injury in Week 8. But, now it's even cloudier when considering the Vikings are in a spot to nab one of the draft's top quarterbacks.

They wouldn't have to jump into the top-5 to do it, either. The key with this year's class is it's littered with several prospects who can turn into very good signal-callers in the NFL. The Vikings currently have nine picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, including four in the first four rounds, so they could add a pick, or two, and even a player in a package to move up, if they need to or want to.

It's going to be a very interesting offseason in Minnesota and depending on what the team does, it could easily define the franchise for the foreseeable future.
