Vikings get huge Jordan Addison injury update for Week 17
Matt Krohn-USA TODAY Sports

Jordan Addison missed practice on Wednesday but returned in limited fashion on Thursday as the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver fights through an ankle injury, per Ben Goessling.

Addison did not play in the second half of Minnesota’s Week 16 loss to the Detroit Lions, finishing the game with one reception for two yards. That came a week after Addison scored two touchdowns and hauled in 111 receiving yards.

Addison is tied for the rookie lead in touchdowns and is second in receiving yards behind Puka Nacua. He has become a very good complementary piece to Justin Jefferson and played well through increased action in Jefferson’s absence earlier this year.

The Vikings will want Addison on the field Sunday night in a must-win game against the Green Bay Packers. The latest installment of the great NFC North rivalry – which will serve as a playoff eliminator in the NFC – pits both teams at 7-8. The Vikings won the first matchup against the Packers in October.

Minnesota has lost four of its last five games after winning five straight. The loss of quarterback Kirk Cousins to a torn Achilles did not help.

The Vikings are making another change at quarterback for Sunday as rookie Jaren Hall will get the start over Nick Mullens. Minnesota started four different QBs this season with Addison catching a touchdown pass from Cousins and Mullens.

Jordan Addison has one more chance to log a full practice and the added time with the Sunday night game ensures that he’ll have every chance to suit up for the Vikings. Addison could play a major factor in the game and in fantasy football championships across the country.
