The Minnesota Vikings struck a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday night to acquire LT Cam Robinson. He is the presumed Christian Darrisaw replacement and the Vikings ended up keeping their small allotment of draft picks in 2025 to make the move.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the trade details are as follows:
The playing time incentives are interesting. What is going to take away the Vikings' seventh-round pick? What will spike the value from a fifth to a fourth? These are things we don't know quite yet, but the answer is clear: the Vikings believe this is a Super Bowl caliber team and they are going to try and make a run.
What also hasn't been mentioned by anybody is if the Jaguars are going to be retaining any of Robinson's salary. He is owed around $8.8 million for the rest of the season in base salary along with per game roster bonuses.
If the Vikings need to, they can restructure the contracts of right tackle Brian O'Neill and cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. to clear some salary cap space.
Another important factor here is the Vikings kept their limited draft capital for 2025. They still have their first round pick, a presumed third round compensatory pick and two fifth round picks at their disposal.
