How about the effort from the Minnesota Vikings defense?

Thanks in large part to Brian Flores' crew, the Vikings hold a 13-0 lead over the Chicago Bears at halftime of "Monday Night Football."

Chicago had the ball four times in the first half (excluding the last-second kneel down). Two of those ended in turnovers on downs when fourth-down rushes were stopped, one ended in a fumble and the other ended in a punt.

Even after a running into the kicker penalty extended Chicago’s final drive of the half and led to the Bears’ longest drive of the night, Chicago totaled just 106 yards on 29 plays (3.7 per) in the first 30 minutes and scored zero points despite winning the time of possession battle.

Caleb Williams is 7-of-9 for 60 yards, D’Andre Swift has totaled just 31 yards on 11 carries, and DJ Moore is Chicago’s leading receiver with two catches for 17 yards, although he’s added 24 yards rushing.

Meanwhile, Sam Darnold and the Vikings offense has been mostly good but a missed opportunity has the score closer than it could be.

Minnesota got a field goal right away thanks to Chicago's first turnover on downs, despite hardly gaining any yards. Darnold found Justin Jefferson in the end zone on the team's second drive to make it 10-0, but a rare Jefferson drop on the third drive cost the Vikings a likely touchdown. Instead, the Vikings went for it on fourth-and-three from Chicago's 23-yard line instead of taking the field goal and Darnold was intercepted.

On the final drive, right before halftime, Minnesota quickly marched into Bears territory but ran out of time and had to settle for another field goal, keeping it a two-score game.

Darnold is 15-of-24 for 145 yards with a touchdown and interception, Aaron Jones tallied 29 yards on seven carries, and Jordan Addison is again having a big game, already hauling in six catches for 58 yards. Also, keep an eye on Jonathan Greenard, who is working against Chicago's backup left tackle Kiran Amegadjie and has already gotten a sack/forced fumble and drawn a holding call, and Minnesota's right tackle spot, as David Quessenberry has filled in with Brian O'Neill banged up.

Eight of the past 11 games between these teams has ended in a one-score margin so the Vikings will need to keep the foot on the gas to put their rivals away.
